Artist: David Soulsby: "One Man's Vision"
| Norman Cross Art Gallery is proud to present a one man exhibition of local artist Mr David Soulsby, from Stilton, Peterborough, to open its 2006 programme. David was born in the
West Midlands and is an artist, and also an occasional film maker and by profession
a consultant geologist working for the Red Cross. He has recently returned from
the earthquake devastation area of Kashmir in Pakistan and has also worked in
Darfur, the Sudan, in Africa. "Paintings are just another way of keeping a diary" said Pablo Picasso. To David Soulsby, that's just what his art is - a diary of his extensive experiences through his travels as a geologist, documented in his visionary work as an accomplished and passionate artist, influenced by his creative roots in the classical surrealism of Dali, Magritte, Max Ernst, etc. The late Beatles guitarist George Harrison has one of David's pictures in his collection and so does Elton John's Rocket Records company director David Croker. David has also sold his work to American collectors. The Norman Cross Art Gallery is committed to promoting challenging and creative new works of art in our region and feel David Soulsby's work meets those criteria by delivering through his observations powerful messages for those willing to open, not only their eyes, but their minds. The exhibition of Original works for sale and some limited Giclee prints opens with a private view on Sunday 12th March and continues until April 22nd so that many can catch this exhibition by a truly exceptional talent. Additional works can be found on David's Artist's Page. |
