To commemorate the inauguration of the “Norman Cross Eagle” by His Grace the Duke of Wellington the gallery was proud to host this "Anglo French" Exhibition.

Once again the influence of France and England arrived at Norman Cross as it was some 200 years ago. How fitting for the connection to still be so much part of our lives today.

Mary Kemp is based in Peterborough and studied at Salisbury College of Art. Mary has exhibited at the Whittlefield Gallery, in the Eastern Open Exhibition and the South Holland Open and was a prize winner at the Peterborough Exhibition Group in 2002.

Derek Massey who lives in the Fens has once again produced outstanding seascapes depicting the wonderful shores of Norfolk and the beautiful sunsets of the Fens. The colour and composition “make us proud” to be part of such a beautiful region, imagining the serene calmness of the sea and the refreshing breeze as we walk along the beach watching a dog at play or just two friends on a day out. Then our mind travels to the drama of the Fenland evening sunsets from blue to yellow and finally a fireball of reds.

Gillian Burrows, the London based artist, is also exhibiting some specially commissioned work of Peterborough and Ely Cathedrals and a montage of Norman Cross and Peterborough in limited Gilclee prints.

Jean Lagadec was born in Paris but now lives in the Fens. He views the composition of the landscape in a different manner. The elegant lines of the seashore in form and shape composing delicate yet precise imagery for the viewer to look further into the simplicity of the subject.
