Alistair Butt

The Norman Cross Gallery has been proud to exhibit Alistair's work in two exhibitions.
His works are principally of coastal and landscape scenes which include interesting detail yet without compromising the sense of mood and the special quality of light.
His style is true to the traditions of Bristish landscape painting and his inspiration comes from subjects within the UK - Cornwall and Kent to Cumbria and the Yorkshire Dales.
Alistair has also produced some wonderful seascapes in oil. The feel and mood of his creations draw the viewer into believing that you are standing in the middle of the scene and admiring the beauty which surrounds you. The atmosphere created in his work brings tranquillity to even the most troubled mind.
He is a member of the Royal Society of Marine Artists who exhibit annually at The Mall Gallery in London. He has exhibited throughout the country and holds regular demonstrations for clubs and art groups. He also has produced a collection of limited edition prints of his works.
