Norman Crosss Gallery exterior viewThe region's newest art gallery is situated in the unique and picturesque setting of the former prisoner of war depot of Norman Cross. During the Napoleonic wars, seven thousand French prisoners were held at Norman Cross, guarded by five hundred soldiers.

The gallery is located in the recently restored stable block and is the brainchild of Derek Lopez and his wife Mary who reside in the Commandant's House in the grounds.

Derek is a businessman and since purchasing the house in 1993 he has restored it to its former glory - his final goal was for the complete restoration of the stable block into an art gallery, opening for its first exhibition on the 22nd September 2001.

The gallery is open Friday 11am - 3pm and Saturday 11am to 4pm. Other times by appointment only.

The gallery is available as a unique venue for business conferences and wedding receptions - details on the Conference Venue page.
